Whilst a on line presences on relevant social media sites and a optimised website is imperative, it’s just as important that face to face relationships are able to grow and flourish.

People do business with those they know, like and trust. Referrals are a further way of gaining customers, however in most cases referrals come from those clients, friends or associates that KNOW YOU.

Face to face networking can be intimidating, so why not ask the host if they will introduce you to friendly attendees, the best form of introduction is a genuine hello with, “I’m new to this, my name is ABC and my business is ABC”. We all started at one time so people will want to help you.

Don’t sell at someone or thrust a business card into everyone’s hand, in todays world its about getting to know you first, then the business and then if warranted exchange cards.

It usually takes around 3 months of continued support to a group before people really state to trust you, that is why I suggest you go to any networking meeting twice then decide if they’re a right fit for you and visa-versa and ONLY join if you can commit to most of the meetings.

Over the years I’ve been told, I joined this group and got nothing, but when I say, “oh I have never seen you at functions” the response is always, “I never went”.

In order to get the most out of face to face networking real time needs to be invested, personally I have seen MASSIVE financial results from a few hours of investment.

Each group has its own personality and the best way to find out about that is to google about them, call them or meet them.
